    Walnut Cheez Sauce

This Walnut Cheez Sauce is a great way to get lots of brain healthy fats into your meal. It is nutrient dense, with anti-inflammatory turmeric, garlic, and omega -3 oils. A great way to skip the dairy in a meal. Kid-friendly!

*Note: I have spoken with many people who equate fat=bad.  Fats are a necessary building block of every cell.  Our brains and hearts love Omega 3's.  Getting more Omega 3's vs. 6's is very beneficial and balancing.  This is why I crafted this particular recipe--most vegan cheez sauces use cashews, but walnuts are super loaded up with nutrients. Enjoy!!  This makes 1 cup and you can adjust your recipe as necessary.

    • 1/2 cup

      Walnuts (halved, soaked in water)
    • 1/4 cup

      Water (cold)
    • 1

      Garlic (clove, minced)
    • 1/8 tsp

Garlic Powder (optional if using raw garlic)
    • 1/4 tsp

    • 1/4 tsp

      Sea Salt
    • 2 tbsps

Udo's Oil (Can use Flax oil instead)
    • 1 tbsp

      Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    • 1 tbsp

      Lemon Juice
    • 3 tbsps

      Nutritional Yeast

    1. Soak the walnuts in the water for 30-60 minutes.
    2. If you are using garlic, you can pan roast the garlic in the Olive oil for a few minutes on low.
    3. Add all ingredients and either hand blend; put in blender; or use a food processor
    4. This makes approximately one cup of sauce.
